This online memorial was created in loving memory of Parker Johnson, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign Parker's guest book and let us know you came to visit.

We will remember Parker forever.

Parker was the light of our lives.

I found out I was pregnant January 13, 2008. I had gotten off work early that afternoon and something told me to go to the store and get a pregnancy test, because my mind thought I was pregnant. Well I followed my instinct, went to the local pharmacy, and picked up a twin pack of pregnancy tests. My husband worked rotating shift work and was working some overtime so he was not home when I got home. Well I went home and took one of the pregnancy tests. I went downstairs and swept the floor that away I gave the test the appropriate time to register. Well once, I finished sweeping I ran upstairs, nervous as can be and it was positive. My husband and I had been trying to have a child for about 1 year before that. Therefore, when I found out I was pregnant I was so excited. I called my best friend and told her. I concluded that I wanted to make SURE I was pregnant before I told my husband, so I waited until the next day.

When I woke up the next morning I made sure, he was asleep and I went to the bathroom and used the other stick. I had locked the door and was staring at the test. Well I felt like an hour had passed and really it was only about 1 minute...sure enough it was positive also. Well I was so excited I could not even hide it from him when he woke up. I told him first thing I think he was excited but then again he thought I was joking. After about 30 minutes of convincing him I was not joking he finally started to get that I am gonna be a daddy grin.

Here's My little man package

Well the next 7 1/5 months went by with no problems at all. We found out we were having a little boy, just what I wanted.  My husband wanted a little girl so he did not turn out as mean, as he was when he was a child. We decided to name him Parker Allen. Parker was the name I liked and Allen was the family name on my husband’s side of the family. Once we found out Parker was a boy we were ecstatic. We started buying all kinds of boy stuff, whether it was a toddler shirt or newborn onesies. We did everything the first time mother and fathers do. We did the whole baby registry at both Target and Babies R Us.  My mom and Aunt planned the baby shower for August 23 at 1pm. We got the baby’s room painted, decorated, and all ready for parker to come sleep in his room. We painted the bottom 3rd of his walls periwinkle (a shade of bluish/purplish) chalkboard paint...yes I said chalkboard I was teaching my son to write on the walls early...ha ha. My husband loves to hunt so we found some stickers of some deer, bear, ducks, and turkeys so we put them on the wall. We had looked at a crib that we wanted at Babies R US, but later decided that we could probably get a better deal if we went somewhere else. Therefore, we went to another baby furniture store and found the perfect deal. We got the crib, changing table and dresser for a little less than $1000.00.  We were set.  When that came in, we got my brother-in-law to help us bring it inside and in the baby’s room. Well the next day we put it all together and in the correct spot in his room. I was excited it was actually looking like a baby’s room. We were actually going to be parents…
